In this post I mention the Top 3 best anxiety books for anxiety sufferers. I have rated these based on what people have reviewed them. Overcoming Anxiety by Helen Kennerley

I have added a review on the book that was posted on Amazon. I have chosen this review in particular because I feel it gives details on how the book has helped.

I have read lots and lots of books about anxiety and depression and have found this book to be very helpful without being overwhelmingly complicated or too heavy to read while suffering from and anxiety and depression. It also contains similar content to what I have learnt from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy therapists which would be very helpful to others. In particular I found the chapter about adrenaline very helpful and have learnt that a lot of the symptoms I have are caused by this.

Anxiety Re-balance by Carl Vernon

When you are suffering from Anxiety it is likely that you have a lot of unanswered questions going on in your mind. These questions might be playing on your thoughts – all this does it add stress and panic to your mind causing even more problems. This book can help answer your questions and therefore setting your mind at ease and giving you some relief from the panic you might be experiencing.

This is a review that someone  left for this book. I chose this review because it shows how much the book helped the reader and how it gave him/her hope. Having hope is one of the most important things when you are suffering from any mental health illness or are faced with any low mood situation

Because with this book I’m starting to see that there’s hope for even the deepest of mental health challenges others are facing today, revival is possible, after so many years of helping people suffering from crippling anxiety and paranoia this book is saving people’s lives.     I was wondering this myself. Of course there are a ton of self help books out there, but finding the one that works for you is not an easy task when you have to buy them first to get a look at them. Thanks for showcasing these.

    I am going to check these books out. As some who has had anxiety issues for 15 years with no help from a medical doctor, I am looking outside the box. I know there are ways to overcome it.     It’s definitely difficult knowing where to start when looking for a self-help book on anxiety or anything self help related, there is just so much out there, and sadly some of it is garbage. So I am really thankful for this list of good anxiety books – thanks!

    • These truly are the best anxiety books in my opinion Kelly (Maybe I could even add my own to this list at the front page ;)). The best anxiety books come from people who’ve suffered as you have, because those people are the true greatest healers of our time. Not the ones who preach what to do, and never can relate or show you how to do it on a practical level.

I’ve seen a number of books out there but I really need a recommendation so I can be sure of getting the best out of the book.     I am aware that there’re many anxiety books out there, some with useful information why some with inadequate information, so from your listing order I guess I am interested in buying number two.

    I sounds silly but I typically avoid reading things about anxiety because I don’t like thinking about the negative way it makes me feel. But I just got a new library card and I really want to try giving these books a shot. Maybe it’ll help to read these best anxiety books from others’ points of view.

    Sarah Rayner’s book is one of the best anxiety books I’ve ever read. My niece is starting to develop a very bad anxiety and we think it was all triggered by a bad breakup. Her mother passed away last year and this worsened her condition and I’m doing my best to help her out as she refuses any professional help. Thanks for the roundup, will check the other two books when I get home, I need all the help I can get right now.

    Thanks for the great book suggestions. I wonder if these are also available as ebooks? I will have to sign up for The Anxiety Guy book as well – I didn’t realise that there was a free book. Self help books like these really do help – they are even helpful to people without anxiety, but that has a friend or loved one that suffers from anxiety.

    I have suffered from Panic and anxiety disorders for the past 3 years. I couldn’t fly, drive, or leave house. It got to a point where I couldn’t stay in my own room alone. During this whole phase, I consulted so many therapists and psychiatrists and consumed numerous medications but I felt I would never be cured because I was dependent on the medications. After interacting with Dennis Simsek, things started getting on track for me. So far, I am satisfied with my recovery. Hats off to Dennis!

    Oh! I have read Anxiety re-balance and I must confess, that book left a great mark in my life. Before I found it, I have come across tons of anxiety book where all the author does is to give one theory or the other which made it difficult for me to find answers there,
    .
    But the way Carl related his own personal life really helped get me up on my feet. it’s a book I will never forget.

    My mother has been diagnosed with an anxiety disorder, and I’ve been looking for books that can at least help her get through this phase.
