So you’ve had the chance to review 2014, and like everyone else you see some gaps. Some things that you truly want to commit to changing in 2015, but I have one question for you; Have you made new years resolutions in the past, that you can’t even remember anymore? So we have a problem here don’t we?
Could This Year Be Different Than Those Past Years? Or Will January 2016 Look Similar To January 2015?
NO! It’s won’t be the same and do you know why? Because you’ve learned from your past, and you deep down know you are better now. You may have a goal to overcome a certain fear that’s causing you much anxiety, as this site helps you with. You may want to have a bigger social circle, maybe even more money.
But there’s one thing standing in your way of creating the changes you want, and fulfilling that new year’s resolutions you’ve set out for yourself. That one thing is you, and only you. With all the incredible resources that we have in our world today, is there any reason whatsoever not to achieve our goals? No there isn’t.
So what keeps us from reaching those goals you might ask? There are three things that I challenge you to be conscious of NOT doing for at least the next 2 weeks. Because if you can package up these 3 things, and become conscious of whether or not you’re doing them, it will turn your whole world around.
So your challenge for the next 2 weeks that will ultimately help you to achieve your new year’s resolution goes like this:
Stop Complaining! – The weather, not enough money, your wife doesn’t understand you, your boss is a pain in the butt and on and on. End the complaining for the next 2 weeks completely, and watch your life change.
Recognize The Big Buts! – You know, the things you say to justify that things aren’t SO bad such as; ‘I know I need to get in better shape, but I don’t look THAT bad,’ or ‘ I really want to start a routine such as meditation, but I just don’t know where to start,’ so you never start! Recognize the big buts and kick them out of your life for the next 2 weeks.
End The Blame Game! – Tired of the exclamation marks, well I’m sorry but I need to get you on the right track…! Blaming does nothing for you, it only robs you of your true potential. No more blaming your job for the lack of pay, no more blaming the waitress for not being kind enough during dinner, and no more blaming world leaders on what the world is turning into today! For the next 2 weeks your job is to throw out all your blaming, and begin accepting, and seeing the good in everything.
So why do I say 2 weeks, and not 1 week or even a month? Because if you haven’t set foot towards a goal you wanted to accomplish lately, you’ll never get to a month. A week on the other hand isn’t long enough to set the new habits in motion that will ultimately help you with your 2015 new years resolution.
One great way to tackle this 2 week challenge is by bringing a journal with you during your day. Every time you recognize yourself falling into one of the three ‘traps’ that you read above, write it in your journal. Soon you’ll notice when and where your limiting habits are holding you back. When you have a blank journal, you’ll know you’re not only on your way to fulfilling your new year’s resolution, but accomplishing any goal you set out for yourself in the future.
