Welcome to episode number 404 of the Anxiety Guy podcast. I’m your host, Dennis Simsek. In this episode, I want to share with you the moment I realized I had healed my anxiety for good. Many of you have asked me this question, and I understand the importance of mindfulness on this transformative journey.
For me, that pivotal moment came when I noticed that my body was no longer hypersensitive to the present or future environment.
It was a breakthrough realization. I came to understand that a dysregulated nervous system, often stemming from traumatic events in childhood, can cause us to perceive everything as negative and threatening. But as my nervous system found balance, my entire outlook on myself, my past, self-worth, other people, and the future shifted from fear to love.
I vividly remember the profound moment when I recognized that I was no longer constantly seeking to complete tasks or running away from my current situation. Instead, my body felt safe and content in the present moment. It was a significant change in my bodily sensations. I used to watch the ripples caused by my rapid heartbeat in the bathtub, consumed by tension and mental chatter.
But that experience has become a distant memory. Surrendering and reframing past experiences (through this YouTube playlist) played significant roles in my healing journey.
One of the most remarkable shifts was no longer needing to distract myself from anxiety symptoms and mental chatter. Instead of avoiding these uncomfortable sensations, I decided to build a new relationship with my symptoms, allowing for deeper mental clarity. It was in this process that I realized the answers and transformations I sought were within me all along. I learned to trust my own beliefs and ideas rather than relying solely on external advice.
I want to reassure you that you are more than your anxiety. Each one of you listening has the strength and ability to heal. If you find value in this podcast, I invite you to rate and review it. Your feedback helps others on their healing journey.
This episode offers insights into my personal experience with healing anxiety and provides encouragement and guidance for those who are on a similar journey. Remember, you have the power to transform your relationship with anxiety and live a life of peace and fulfillment.

- “Even in the face of emotional difficulty, physical difficulty, environmental, situational difficulty, you get to choose what you believe about any situation.”
- “And when you live your life around the idea of compassion towards your protective sides, your lower self, your ego, understanding, empathy, then the answers will come to you.”

Listening to this is the solution I didn’t know I needed. The most traumatizing aspect of my mental health journey was reaching a point where I thought I had overcome my anxiety. I had not had an anxiety attack in 3 weeks (which is three times longer than I had ever gone). It came back and I had quite the anxiety attack. However, been able to distract myself from anxiety triggers has drastically made a difference.
Thank you for sharing, hoping the anxiety recovery journey is well on its way for you.
