Are you missing the signs your anxiety recovery is working because you’re still experiencing symptoms? It’s easy to judge your progress by how you feel today and overlook the changes in how you respond, think, and live. In today’s episode, I want to help you recognize the progress you may be giving yourself very little credit for.
Signs Your Anxiety Recovery Is Working
When you’ve struggled with anxiety for a long time, you can become very good at noticing what still feels wrong. A sensation returns, a fearful thought appears, or a difficult morning unfolds, and your mind says, “Nothing has changed.”
But is that the whole picture?
Perhaps discomfort still shows up, yet you spend less time analysing it. Perhaps uncertainty is still uncomfortable, yet you don’t immediately search for reassurance. These changes deserve your attention, too.
Why Symptoms Don’t Tell the Whole Story
If feeling completely calm is your only measure of recovery, you may dismiss meaningful progress every time anxiety appears.
Consider your relationship with what you feel. Does a difficult moment take over your entire day? Do you respond to yourself with the same criticism as before? Are you beginning to make choices based on what matters to you, even when discomfort is present?
These questions give you a broader way to reflect on your recovery. You don’t need to turn them into another daily test. Simply allow yourself to notice what is changing.
Give Yourself Credit for What Is Changing
A difficult day can make it easy to forget the moments when you responded differently, stayed engaged with life, or allowed a feeling to pass without trying to solve it.
Today’s conversation invites you to move your internal flashlight toward those deeper changes. Instead of focusing only on what hasn’t disappeared yet, begin noticing the ways anxiety may be having less influence over your life.
Press play above and listen with curiosity. You may recognize progress you’ve been overlooking.
