November 29, 2018

“Anxiety During The Holidays Can Lead You To Hoping For A Miracle During The New Year.”

Today on a power packed episode of the ask the anxiety guy show we’re discussing the stresses of family get togethers during the holidays, the best occupations during anxiety, and if CBT for panic attacks actually works.

3 questions that have crossed the minds of many people going through an anxiety disorder, starting with the how to deal with anxiety during the holidays. The very fact that a family gathering will happen used to scare the bejizzies out of me. A non sensitized person might think I was crazy, ‘what’s there to be scared of’ They might say.

PEOPLE! What If those people decide to not accept me anymore? What if I say or do the wrong thing? What if I’m put on the spot?

Notice a trend here? What if? As many of you know now I’ve been able to turn those what if’s into so whats. And not just at a head level, the kind of advice you hear from others that never really seeps through to your heart and gut. But at a deep enough level where it consistently has altered my actions. I simply allow myself to be vulnerable and make mistakes. ‘So what.’

People dealing with anxiety also tend to question whether or not they can last in their current jobs

A valid concern as many anxiety sufferers begin taking more and more time off work. This is why the second question is all about what to do in a highly sensitized state when you’re starting to second guess everything related to your job or career choice. Finally, we’ll get a deeper understanding of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. CBT for short, and how it can help or harm someone experiencing panic.

Today on the show we’ll be looking into:

  • How to properly deal with anxiety during the holidays and the many family gatherings
  • What to do with your current occupation during sensitized times
  • How CBT for panic actually works
