There’s a right way and a wrong way to talk about your anxiety. Lucky for you, I spent years doing it the wrong way and can now show you the right way.
Many people will wonder whether what comes out of your mouth actually matters in the anxiety healing process. The answer to that is a resounding yes, it does. It matters so much that the wrong vocabulary or approach could halt the great progress you’re making instantly.
Either You’re A Victim Of Your Anxiety, Or Becoming Better Because Of It. The Way You Talk About Your Anxiety Reflects Your Identity.
One day you’ll get to a point where you’ll be so sick and tired of talking about it that you’ll stop completely. That will be the day you realize how all consuming this cycle is and how much time it’s stolen from you. We’re working towards that day, don’t worry. But it won’t happen with hope solely. This YouTube video will also open your eyes to the power of your words in healing anxiety for good.
That’s just a starting point.
Back to the topic though, how to talk about your anxiety. Notice where you currently are with this. What words do you use the most often? Words such as ‘hard?’ As in ‘it’s so hard to change.’ Or do you use words such as ‘transition?’ As in ‘I’m in a transition and this is just a blip in the road to my healing.’
What you say and how you say it determines what you paint on that blank canvas that represents your future life.
For the first few weeks of applying the guidance from this anxiety guy podcast episode, it will be challenging. But everything is at the beginning anyway. Your relentless pursuit towards understanding your anxiety better and applying a new formula will be your ticket out of an anxiety disorder.
After those initial first few weeks, should you stay the course and see it through, what once took massive amounts of conscious awareness no longer will. The effort you put into how you talk about your anxiety will fade, and a flow state will arise.
When it does, don’t sabotage it by talking yourself out of change, please.
Instead, open up to investigating your new thinking patterns and emotions more. This is a beautiful place to live each day. Since these are the challenging days engulfed in deep self discovery that will lead you to your true purpose in this lifetime.
Essentially, the way you talk about your anxiety will determine whether you make progress or have setbacks.

I think there’s always the self perpetuating cycle of having anxiety about having anxiety. Like, being anxious to talk about it because you don’t want to be “too much” but then talking about it constantly and relaizinr you were right and it is “too much” — not just for you but to put on another person. Finding a balance is so hard, but I think you’re right about investigating thought patterns so that you have a better idea of what’s going on inside.
Thanks for your insights Jen.
