Tame Your Reptilian Brain, Tame Your Anxiety Now

September 3, 2018

“The Reptilian Brain Will Jump On Any Opportunity You Give it To Perceive Danger.”

The most ancient of our brains commonly referred to as the reptilian brain, or lizard brain is highly instinctual in nature. As more and more dangerous associations are made the more anxiety one feels, and the more dreadful life can become. The biggest question in today’s powerful podcast though is ‘can we tame our reptilian brains and therefore even our health anxiety?’

My answer wouldn’t be a firm yes if I hadn’t seen thousands of people do it through Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and or NLP type methods. To move from remembering and becoming highly reactive to thinking and highly responsive. This is the end goal for all anxiety sufferers really. But it’s a goal that can elude so many due to the lack of trust they have in their own minds and bodies, as well as a lack of faith in their higher selves.

Allowing The Reptilian Brain To Run Your Life Means To Slavishly Conform To Old Way Of Doing Things

Doesn’t that sound like anxiety already? To go through life believing one thing in our core (fear and doubts) and hoping another shows up. To become a slave to traits of the reptilian brain involves seeking differences, becoming non-cooperative, to fight, to hate, compete, and many more unhealthy attributes.

This is why I’m so excited for this episode. I want to open up your eyes to your instinctual nature and how it’s causing the anxiety and panic in your life to stick around. To be in a perpetual dream like state as many anxiety sufferers are today means to obey the reptilian mentality. But we can break this cycle, and we’ll do it one step at a time starting today.

In episode #133 of the anxiety guy podcast we’ll be looking at:

  • How the reptilian brain produces endless amounts of anxiety
  • The reasons for why the reptilian brain seeks to keep you on high alert
  • How to tame the lizard brain so you can lessen your anxiety levels starting today

  1. Dennis, I’m a big believer in cognitive therapy. I think that’s one of the best ways to help avoid negative thoughts and correct bad behaviors. I’ve always heard about the lizard brain but never had anyone explain it to me or how it works. I’ve talked to other people about how remarkable the human mind is and this podcast was another interesting exploration of our gray matter.
