When thinking about what causes anxiety to be present day after day we’re faced with a whole host of answers. In today’s anxiety guy podcast episode I’d like to tackle these reasons in the most practical and understanding way.

What causes anxiety in the present is based on what took place in past.

Most people can’t seem to wrap their heads around the idea that their anxiety disorder is an accumulation of past experiences. Experiences of fighting back, running, and most importantly freezing which causes the nervous system to become hyper aware and sensitized over time.

There’s much more to it though.

If present anxiety is an expression of the events of the past, what if we can’t consciously recall those events we now label as traumas? Don’t worry, in todays powerful interview we’ll be touching on this phenomenon as well.

The subconscious mind always answers first, and always answers honestly.

Since your body is the biggest part of the subconscious mind these past events can manifest through, sensations, lingering symptoms, pain, and emotional distress. These signals tend to get misinterpreted though as physical illnesses which can drag a person into health anxiety.

We don’t want this to happen.

So it’s important to understand what causes anxiety for you, and understand which past experiences need to be regressed back to and resolved. When talking about resolving past trauma we’re talking about:

  • Re-negotiating what took place, shifting perceptions, seeing the experiences from other peoples angles as well as the multitude of options you personally have.
  • Discharging the stored energy in the body through an anxiety program that shows you how. The body keeps the score, and when crying is the result of an emotional reframing exercise we know that the discharging of energy is happening.
  • Giving and getting forgiveness.
  • Moving you forward in time, and no longer living in the present moment based on the beliefs from your past.
